The Roadtrip Kenya team
Kenya is our newest destination. Peter runs our operations from out of Nairobi. He comes from the Overland business. We dare to say there is not a single stone or tree in Kenya which Peter hasn't seen before. Lucky is our head mechanic, although Peter likes to compete with Lucky about his knowledge of Landcruisers. Okke, one of the founders or Roadtrip Africa, will happily assist you prior to your travel to Kenya. In case you need assistance during your travels in Kenya, Peter will always pick up the roadtrip assistance line.
Directions: The Roadtrip Kenya office is located in Ngong District. The address is Muthaiga Area, Kenvic road, no 743. We are plotted on Google Maps and Maps.Me
Where to stay in Nairobi: Nairobi is a big city and can be congested. The best place to start or end your roadtrip in Nairobi is from Karen District. Its a very green and safe district, and also boats the nicest restaurants and hotels. From Karen, you are within easy reach from the bypass connecting you towards either the Maasai Mara, north to Samburu or north west towards Lake Naivaisha. Kenyatta International Airport is far away from our office or any other places of interest. We only recommend staying in that side of town, if you need to catch your flight, or when traveling south, towards Tsavo and Diani Beach. Check our accomodation page, for tips on the best places to stay in Nairobi.
Like to talk to us? Mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and we respond within 24 hours Monday - Friday. After your booking is confirmed, you'll get the number of the Roadtrip Kenya assistance line, available 24 /7.
How it all started
Roadtrip Africa, owned by a few Dutchies, has country offices in Kampala, Arusha, Nairobi and Antananarivo (Ivato). Since 2011, we have taken the lead in catering to the independent traveller, through car & camping gear rental with a big dose of insider travel tips.
It all started with Okke and Laura from the Netherlands. When they were living in Uganda, they had lots of friends coming over to visit, who wanted to explore Uganda at their own pace and at an affordable rate. However, this was impossible at the time, as no other company offered reliable 4x4 car rental for self drive with camping gear and route planning assistance. An idea was born and now, 10 years later, we're proud to still be the market leader in East Africa. We have increased our fleet, expanded to Tanzania, Kenya and Madagascar and can count on a growing community of (returning) customers from all over the world.
