The Roadtrip Tanzania team
Our operations in Tanzania are run by Mohamed, known far beyond Arusha for his excellent garage, Yusuphu, who has been with us since the very beginnings back in 2015, and a happy bunch of great staff and drivers. Laura, one of the founders of Roadtrip Africa and Marin will happily assist you prior to your travel to Tanzania. When you have your car delivered to your lodge or you arranged for a pick up from the airport, you probably meet Yusuphu, Sabas or Hamadi. When you're surrounded by elephants in the park and don't know what to do, stuck in the mud, or face a mechanical issue and call the roadtrip assistance line, Yusuphu will always pick up the phone.
Directions: Our office is in Arusha, Sakina area. When you're coming from Arusha town towards Sakina, you will see Arusha Meat on your left. Take this dirt road immediately on the right hand side and drive up the road for approximately 200 metres. On your right hand side you will see a grey gate and a black gate right next to each other. The black gate leads to the Roadtrip Tanzania Office.
We are plotted on Google Maps and Maps.Me.

How it all started
Roadtrip Africa, owned by a few Dutchies, has country offices in Kampala, Arusha, Nairobi and Antananarivo (Ivato). Since 2011, we have taken the lead in catering to the independent traveller, through car & camping gear rental with a big dose of insider travel tips.
It all started with Okke and Laura from the Netherlands. When they were living in Uganda, they had lots of friends coming over to visit, who wanted to explore Uganda at their own pace and at an affordable rate. However, this was impossible at the time, as no other company offered reliable 4x4 car rental for self drive with camping gear and route planning assistance. An idea was born and now, 10 years later, we're proud to still be the market leader in East Africa. We have increased our fleet, expanded to Tanzania, Kenya and Madagascar and can count on a growing community of (returning) customers from all over the world.
