Iringa accommodation tips

Iringa is an authentic highland town, located at a 1,500-meter altitude on a steep escarpment. Iringa is an important regional town and also sees quite some volunteers and NGO workers. It is the principal town of the Hehe people, said to provide the most resistance to German colonisation of the Tanzanian tribes. The central market is nice to wander around and a good place to buy rugs and baskets. The city is also home to several historical and cultural sites, including the Isimila Stone Age site, the Old Boma Museum, and the Neema Crafts Centre, where visitors can learn about the local history and traditions.
