You can choose to have your car delivered to Dar es Salaam at an additional cost, or you take a domestic flight to Arusha. Alternatively, some airlines have a fuel stop in Dar es Salaam and continue to Arusha at no additional cost. 

Finishing off your Tanzania safari with a beach holiday in Zanzibar is a great idea. There are daily ferries from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar. The crossing takes around 2.5 hours. How to get to Zanzibar

If you're looking for direct flights to Zanzibar, then you can book a domestic flight with Air Tanzania, Regional Air, Coastal Aviation, Air Excel, and Precision Air. You can easily book your flights online.

Did you know that Zanzibar is a short distance away from the mainland? You can take a boat from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar daily, departing from Sokoine Drive. The crossing takes around 2.5 hours and costs approximately $40. You can check the Azam and Fast Ferries websites for scheduled departures and to purchase tickets.

If you prefer to avoid the busy port, most beach resorts along Pangani and Ushongo Bay provide private speedboat transfers to the beautiful Kendwa beach in the North of Zanzibar. The cost is around $220 one way per boat, and the journey takes 1.5 hours.

For the real Livingstone Adventurer, you can also catch a ride on a local Dhow sailing from Bagamoyo. For $2, the price should not let you down, but the safety conditions might be questionable..
